Samsung, along with South Korean carrier SK Telecom introduced a new 5G smartphone named Galaxy A Quantum.
The Samsung Galaxy A Quantum is the first 5G smartphone with the quantum random number generator (QRNG) SKT IDQ S2Q000 chipset. This was developed in ID Quantique, SK Telecom’s Switzerland-based subsidiary.
The chipset uses quantum encryption technology to generate, well random numbers which in turn creates unpredictable secure keys. It does so by utilizing an LED and a CMOS image sensor. The latter detects the light and generates random numbers. The numbers are used for services that require identification and certification like mobile payment apps.

As far as the specs and look go, the Galaxy A Quantum is a repackaged Galaxy A71 5G. This means you get a 6.8-inch FullHD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED panel with its fingerprint reader under it. In the punch-hole is its 32MP front shooter.
It has an L-shaped camera module at the back. There’s a 64MP main camera accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, 5MP macro lens, and 5MP depth sensor.
Under the hood, it is powered by an Exynos 980 SoC with a single 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage configuration. It gets juice from a 4500mAh battery pack with 25W fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy A Quantum comes in three colors – Black, Silver, and Blue and is priced at KRW 649,000 (around PHP 26, 770). Pre-order has begun in South Korea, and will be sold starting May 22.
