realme has 35 million usersIt’s yet another moment of celebration for realme as the game-changing brand now has 35 million users across the globe. The high demand for its products has also helped the brand to retain the seventh spot in the list of top global smartphone brands in terms of shipments in Q1 of 2020, according to Counterpoint, a Global Analyst firm.

A157% YoY growth in global smartphone shipments despite the industry decline

Q3 of 2019 – Counterpoint’s Smartphone Shipment Market Share research showed realme as the top 7 global smartphone brand for the first time. With a 157% increase in its global smartphone shipments, the brand was able to maintain this ranking even until Q1 of 2020.

Realme is also one of only two major global brands to achieve growth in Q1 of 2020, and that’s despite the industry-wide year-on-year decline of 13% during this period. Realme attributes this feat to the support of its global fanbase and its young target audience who are the inspiration for its devices.

With a business model built on light assets, multiple channels, as well as a strengthened e-commerce presence, it was able to achieve a 40% growth or a 10 million sales increase in just four months, has also adapted to the changes in the market and has also upgraded its worldwide channel strategies in multiple markets.

In the Philippines, realme ranks fourth in the market with an annual growth rate of 709%.

For 2020, plans are set to further improve its online and offline sales model to reach more consumers and sustain its rapid growth.

A tech and lifestyle partner

The brand will continue to focus on its young users, for both its smartphones and its AIoT lineup with the use of the 1+1 strategy (Smartphone + AIoT), it will focus on developing trendsetting technology and design to further strengthen its own ecosystem.

This month, realme sold a million units of the realme Buds Air and realme Buds Wireless. The brand also partnered with Naoto Fukasawa, the world’s top industrial design master, and Alan Walker, the Global TOP 100 DJ to perfect both the design and performance of its products.

Having launched 5G products such as the X50 5G, X50 Pro 5G and X50m, the brand has established presence in multiple price segments of 5G-capable smartphones and is set to introduce more 5G products and explore 5G popularization to cater to more users in the future.
