The highly-anticipated Black Shark 3S has finally been unveiled, offering a number of nifty upgrades from its predecessor.
Black Shark 3S has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 500 nits of brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 270Hz touch sampling rate. The display also has two pressure-sensitive zones that can be mapped for various actions.
For its processing package, there’s a Snapdragon 865 backed by 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It also uses a similar camera setup to the Black Shark 3. It’s got a 64MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide unit, and a 5MP depth sensor. Upfront, you get a 20MP snapper.
Black Shark 3S runs JOYUI12 which brings features such as screen mirroring via a USB-C connection to a PC, which means you can use your mouse and keyboard to play. Do note that this is limited to 60fps and introduces a 40ms latency.
The phone can detect flicking motions and users can also create macros. Voice commands can be used to trigger certain actions, such as screen recording.
Lastly, Back Shark 3S packs a 4,729mAh battery with support for 65W fast-charging via a USB-C connector. That means 50% in 12 minutes, and a full charge in 38 minutes. There’s also a magnetic adapter that attaches to the back and lets you play and charge at 18W.
As for pricing, Black Shark 3S will retail for CNY4,000 for the 12GB+128GB model and CNY4,300 for double the storage.
