Xiaomi has just announced the Redmi 9 Prime in India. Among its features include a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a quad rear camera.
Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime is built around a 6.53-inch full-HD+ IPS waterdrop display with Corning Glass 3 protection. Tucked in its waterdrop notch is an 8MP camera. Around the back is a quad rear camera with a 13MP primary sensor along with an 8MP 118-degree ultra-wide angle camera, 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP lens.
Powering the new Redmi handset is a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC accompanied by 4GB DDR4x RAM and either 64GB/128GB internal storage expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.
Redmi 9 Prime gets its juice from a 5020mAh battery cell with 18W fast charging support but it only comes with a 10W charger.
Out of the box, the new device runs on MIUI 11 on top of Android 10. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB-C port.
The Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime comes in four colors – Space Blue, Mint Green, Matte Black, and Sunrise Flare. The 64GB internal storage variant is available for INR 9,999, while for INR 11,999 you get double the storage. The device will be available on August 6 as part of an early access sale via Amazon during Prime Day in India.
