Yes, you’ve read that right. Huawei has confirmed that its existing Android devices will still get Android and GMS updates.
The confirmation came as a response to a concerned Huawei Nova 5T owner who asked if the device will still get updates despite the expiration of Huawei’s general license deal.
In its reply, Huawei confirmed that existing devices will not be affected by the event and that it will continue to deliver security and software updates.
As a refresher, Huawei and its US partners have been able to do business with one another thanks to a temporary license which was extended on a number of instances. This license, however, has expired a few days ago, causing worry for a lot of Huawei device users.
Well, this news should at least ease their worries.
