According to the report, the Mate 40 Pro won’t pack a periscope lens but instead, will have a 12MP telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom. In addition, it will feature laser autofocus coupled with an optical depth sensor.

The new Mate 40 will be powered by a Kirin 9000, the first 5nm chipset with an integrated 5G modem. It will use Cortex-A77 big cores with the prime core clocked at 3.13GHz. It also has three A77 cores running at 2.54GHz along with four A55 little cores at 2.04GHz. The Kirin 9000 packs ARM’s Mali-G78 GPU design which puts it way ahead of its competitors.

huawei-mate-40-pro-leak-2The China variant will have 12GB of RAM while the Europe release of the Mate 40 Pro will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will be expandable but through a Nano Memory card.

huawei-mate-40-pro-leak-backThe device runs Android 10 + EMUI 11 out of the box with Huawei Mobile Services. There’s also a rumor that Huawei will introduce the Mate 30 Pro E and a Huawei Mate 40 Pro RS model.

If these are all true, all that’s left for the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is the price, color, availability. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long for the new flagship series from Huawei to go official.
