Globe Business has recently tightened and improved its internet connectivity in the Asia Pacific region by connecting to SGIX or Singapore Internet Exchange during the SGIX 3rd Annual General Meeting. This, in effect, will further optimize and enhance Globe’s ICT arm’s internet peering in the region.

During the annual meeting, it was formally announced that Globe is the first Philippine carrier-member of the non-profit, open, and neutral internet exchange which enhances the internet environment for local and international IP traffic.

“The company’s linkage with SGIX reflects its support as a key player in the internet industry in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as establishes its affinity with the IP community in this part of Southeast Asia,” said by Globe Business Senior Product Manager for Internet Core Service & IP Peering Achie Atienza  (third from left in the photo).

“The participation of Globe in SGIX further enhances capabilities in building a more efficient Internet, providing benefits to the local peering community and effectively reaching the large Philippine community through Globe,” SGIX Chairman Patrick Scodeller added.

The gathering also served as a strategic venue to introduce Globe and its capabilities to the SGIX members. Currently, Globe has the most extensive global IP infrastructure among all Philippine carriers.
