CES 2021: Intel Announces 11th Gen H-Series Mobile Processors, Teases Next Gen Alder-Lake CPUs

Intel has just introduced four new processor series at CES 2021, which according to the company are designed for business, education, mobile, and gaming computing platforms.

11th Generation Intel Core vPro platform

For business, the 11th Generation Intel Core vPro platform was announced which offers performance and comprehensive hardware-based security. The new Intel Core vPro platform is built on a 10nm SuperFin process. It packs Intel Iris Xe graphics and integrated with Wi-Fi 6/6E (Gig+).

intel-core-vpro-ces-2021The platform offers Intel Hardware Shield which provides comprehensive security deep in hardware for business. It is also equipped with Intel Control-Flow Enforcement Technology to help shut down an entire class of attack that long evaded software-only solutions.

It has eight times better AI performance to keep pace with the fast-changing software ecosystem. The new platform is said to offer up to 23% faster productivity than the competition when using apps like Office 365.

N-series 10nm Intel Pentium Silver and Intel Celeron processors

For students, there are the N-series Intel Pentium Silver and Celeron processors built on the company’s 10nm architecture.

It is said to deliver up to 35% better overall performance and up to 78% better graphics performance gen-on-gen. This enables better application performance and browsing while multitasking in addition to the advanced camera and connectivity features for video conferencing.

11th Generation Intel Core H-series mobile processors

The 11th Generation Core H-series, on the other hand, is for mobile gaming. It extends the 11th Generation mobile family for enthusiast-level gaming in laptops.

intel-core-h-35-mobile-ces-2021The new H-series is led by the Core i7 Special Edition 4-core processor with up to 5GHz Turbo. They feature the new Gen 4 PCIe architecture for connecting to the latest discrete graphics for even better graphics in your games.

The company also announced an 8-core processor available later this quarter. It features 5GHz, 20 lanes of PCIe Gen 4.0 architecture, and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+)

Next-generation “Rocket Lake-S” and “Alder Lake” processors

Intel also showcased a preview of the next-generation desktop processors in the 11th Gen Intel Core S-series or “Rocket Lake-S”. The Intel Core i9-11900K featured 19% gen-over-gen instructions per cycle improvement for the highest frequency cores.

The company also demonstrated the next-generation processor, “Alder Lake”, which represents a breakthrough in x86 architecture.

Alder Lake will combine high-performance cores and high-efficiency cores into a single product. It will also be the first processor built on the enhanced version of the 10nm SuperFin and will be the foundation for desktop and mobile processors.
