Former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has just launched Nothing, yes you read that right, his latest venture is called Nothing.
The London-based company is described as a “new, forward-thinking consumer technology company” but there is currently nothing (pun intended, of course) as far as products go in its portfolio.
Pei left OnePlus in October 2020. The latest venture has already received USD 7 million in funding from the likes of Kevin Lin (co-founder of Twitch), Steve Huffman (co-founder and CEO of Reddit), Tony Fadell (former CEO of Nest and inventor of iPod), and Casey Neistat (YouTuber).
“It’s been a while since anything interesting happened in tech. It is time for a fresh breeze of change. Nothing’s mission is to remove barriers between people and technology to create a seamless digital future. We believe that the best technology is beautiful, yet natural and intuitive to use. When sufficiently advanced, it should fade into the background and feel like nothing.“
– Carl Pei, CEO and Founder, Nothing
The first smart devices that Nothing will release will be launched in the first half of 2021.
We look forward to seeing what Nothing has to offer and see just how it shakes up the tech industry. We can’t wait to see how they present their products as well.
Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network. He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
