Don Anderson, FleishmanHillard SVP and Director for Regional Strategic Digital Integration for Asia Pacific shared his insights about the seemingly looming demise of Facebook.
This trend is brought about by the significant increase of interest over mobile messaging apps such as Kakaotalk, Viber, Whatsapp and even the recently launched Instagram Direct. This is also evidently seen by the outburst of demand over telco services, which is heavily loaded with data-consumption features.
“The market’s adoption of messaging apps like KakaoTalk, Whatsapp, Viber is being driven by the combination of ease of use, convenience, privacy, and unique messaging options such as gaming and emoticons/stickers – overall heightening one’s mobile communications experience,” says Don Anderson, SVP and Director of Regional Strategic Digital Integration for Asia Pacific of FleishmanHillard, a leading global communications agency of the Omnicom Group.
But, this is not technically the end of Facebook and other similar social media sites. This trend is significantly seen over teens, who do not actually dominate the population of Facebook for instance. But as the future moves closer, and as these teens soon become the drivers of economic growth, Facebook’s dominance will definitely be put to test.
