According to application researcher, Jane Manchun Wong has revealed that Twitter will have a paid subscription service called Twitter Blue and will cost USD 2.99 per month.
Representatives of Twitter had previously confirmed the possibility of a paid subscription on the platform, which makes the tweet not too far fetched.
Among the additional features that Twitter Blue is said to feature include canceling sending tweets and organizing tweets in a collection.
The social media company is also speculated to be possibly working on a tiered subscription model. It is also speculated to be merged with the recently acquired Scroll service that allows users to view content on partners’ sites without ads for USD 5 per month.
Former Scroll CEO Tony Haile, now part of Twitter’s product development team, posted on his account that the service “will be integrating into Twitter subscriptions later this year” on the day of purchase. This could hint that one of the benefits of subscribing to Twitter Blue will be being able to view content with ads.
Do note that Twitter has yet to mention anything officially related to the subscription service yet as of writing this.
