The hybrid computing device, the Asus Transformer Book Trio, is now available in the Philippines! Man, I’ve been saving up for this gadget ever since it was announced last year. Well, it’s a good thing that I didn’t buy the Transformer Book in December. Well, T100 is good, but I believe that features-wise, the new Transformer Book Trio is definitely better than the former.

Well, in case you’re living in a rock and do not know what this is, the device is actually 3 computers in one. Technically, it’s just 2 computers, but it can “transform” up to 3 functions:

  • full fledged Windows 8 notebook
  • Windows 8 desktop when you hook it up to a monitor
  • Android 4.2 Tablet

Specification wise, the TX201LA’s (this isn’t a Skynet gadget) PC-module is packed with either an Inter Core i5 or i7 processor, while its Android tablet (yes, its screen) has an Intel Atom procesor. It also has 2 batteries – one installed on the desktop/laptop module (2Cells 4430 mAh 33 Whrs Polymer Battery) and another one installed on the tablet (1 Cells 5070 mAh 19 Whrs). Oh boy!
