The 200MP sensor is said to be able to achieve different outputs of 12.5MP and 50MP through a pixel binning technology the company calls ChameleonCell.

The change in resolution is based on the available light. In low light, it will achieve 12.5MP images with a large 2.56μm pixels through a 4-by-4 binning method. Meanwhile, in good light, it can output in 2-by-2 for 50MP with 1.28μm pixels or natively at 200MP with 0.64μm pixels.

The company didn’t reveal just how big the ISOCELL HP1 sensor is but it is said to be smaller than the ISOCELL GN2.

As far as video goes, the 200MP sensor supports up to 8K at 30fps video. It scales the resolution down to 8192×6144 in order to record 7680×4320 video.

The ISOCELL GN5, on the other hand, is a 50MP 1.0μm sensor that brings improvements to autofocus performance and accuracy. The sensor features the Front Deep Trench Isolation technology on a Dual Pixel design for the first time.

It integrates Dual Pixel Pro, an all-directional autofocusing technology, which places two photodiodes within each 1.0μm pixel. The pixels combine vertical and horizontal tracking to the entire sensor resulting in accurate and instant focusing.

Samsung says both the ISOCELL HP1 and GN5 sensors are already available, meaning we can very well see them in smartphones soon.
