Capcom teased this title about a week to go before Tokyo Game Show 2019 and as the event has gone and concluded, we got a chance to play the game so we can give you our thoughts on it! Good? Meh? Read on to find out our impressions of the latest multiplayer game called Project Resistance! First off, Project Resistance is an asymmetrical 4v1 multiplayer game. 4 players will take control of “Survivors”, each with their own unique skills and playstyle, and the other will take control of the “Mastermind”,  who will do anything to stop these survivors from reaching their goal. If anything, it’s very similar to Predator: Hunting Grounds which we had also played during TGS but with very basic differences and we’re here to talk about the 5 things we learned while playing the game! Each Survivor has an important role to play For a couple of…

Unlike a certain other franchise that we shall leave unnamed, Borderlands finally counts to 3 and has been one of the more highly anticipated releases to end 2019. September is packed with a huge number of high quality games such as Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, NBA 2K20, and Link’s Awakening. Because of that, the battle to gain hold of your attention and hard earned funds is at an all time high. Can Borderlands 3 win the fight or will you be looking elsewhere for your gaming fix? Let us help you make that decision easier through this review of Borderlands 3! Borderlands 3 starts out pretty much the same way as previous titles. The art direction is the same, the crazy narration, the weird personalities… Why fix what ain’t broken? If I didn’t know any better, I would have thought that I was playing Borderlands 2. It’s that similar! I…

As we approach closer to 2020 and the impending release of the highly anticipated PlayStation 5, rumors will definitely start flying around. While we’ve not received any more info on the PS5 prior to the specs reveal from a couple of months back, one such rumor is swirling around now, stating that when the PS5 releases, a “Pro” model will release at the same time. As history dictates, a “Pro” version, similar to the Xbox One X, are both mid generation upgrades and did not release on launch day. Instead, it happens a year or two down the line. A japanese journalist named Zenji Nishikawa says that while Sony is definitely looking forward to releasing a Pro version, it’s plans for the PS5 is to release it during day 1. Who is this Nishikawa person to provide such a claim? He was apparently the first one to break the news…

Could it be news about The Last of Us 2, which has an event also happening at coincidentally the same time? We’ll soon find out along with the other great news incoming from the presentation. Your guess is as good as ours as to what will appear, all we know is we’re excited for it and so should you.

Already a veteran hunter? Go buy Iceborne! New to the series? Buy the base game with Iceborne! End of review. Ok, not really, but it says a lot about how good of an expansion Iceborne is. The base game, which launched nearly a couple of years ago, was a massive undertaking that featured hundreds of hours worth of content, and even a few game of the year nominations and various awards here and there. It made its triumphant return to consoles in January of last year and the result was absolutely smashing. We had spent a good chunk of the last week playing Iceborne from the moment it launched, even purchasing the Master Collectors Edition for some sweet loot. A small event got in the way of this review, you may have heard of Tokyo Game Show 2019 from the various articles we released over the weekend, so this is…

Tales of Arise is the latest entry into the long running Tales series and during the Tokyo Game Show 2019, Bandai Namco released a new trailer for the game along with some game screenshots to get everyone excited for the upcoming title. Check out the trailer below: The last time a Tales game was released was back in 2016 (Tales of Berseria) and the reason why it took so long to put a new game out was because the development team wanted to use new technology (Unreal engine 4), hence the massive improvement in graphical fidelity. Bandai Namco also places great importance in localizing the game across many territories to make the game more accessible to a wider audience, hence the long development time. Producer Yusuke Tomizawa shares his insights and talks about the game in-depth during a live stream held at the final day of TGS, which you can…

It’s been a long day, but Yoshida-san is all smiles. Always cheerful, he laughs as we enter the room. We exchange pleasantries and even some tokens of appreciation for what he’s done for the gaming community. To some, he is simply a Japanese Businessman. To us, he is a big reason why we can call ourselves gamers. He is a gamer himself. “Gamer / President” as emblazoned on his calling card, with a colorful splash of Concrete Genie as the backdrop. Gamer first, President second. He is also one of us – someone who enjoys playing games, interacting with fellow gamers, and talking about games. The only difference? He is also the president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios for Sony Interactive Entertainment. We all take a seat. Each country representative grateful for the chance to pick the brain of one of the most influential personalities in gaming history. “Yoshida-san,…

We recently got to try out Nioh 2 and its as hard (and good) as advertised. The whole world will have to wait until early 2020 to try the full game out but if you cant wait, a recent announcement by the PlayStation Twitter account revealed that there will be a Nioh 2 Open Beta starting November 1-10. You can see the announcement below: Also, during TGS, Producer Fumihiko Yasuda got up and close with the crowd and showed off some interesting gameplay, particularly the 3 player multiplayer mode and a boss fight. You can see the multiplayer action starting at 12:31 and the boss fight starting at 32:10. Nioh 2 releases early 2020 for the PlayStation 4. Predator: Hunting Grounds, developed by Illfonic and led by CEO Charles Brungardt and CCO Jared Gerritzen, became the subject of many due to its gameplay concept when its trailer first released. Pitting an elite group of 4 soldiers generically known as the fireteam against a hunting machine, Predator: Hunting Grounds became available to members of the press care of PlayStation Asia during Tokyo Game Show 2019 and here are some of our impressions from the pre-alpha demo. Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer game. In other words, its 4v1 where you get to play either as part of the fireteam or as the lone Predator. If you’ve ever played Dead by Daylight or Friday the 13th, then you get the idea behind this game, just reskinned to fit the IP. The premise of the game is simple. As the fire team, there are a couple of ways to win the…

Nioh 2 is shaping up pretty nicely as a follow up to the well received first game from 2 years back. We got to play a small chunk of the game thanks to PlayStation Asia and here are some of the new things we found about the game which is set to release in early 2020! Character Creation. Back in the first game, you were assigned a character that totally looked like a bad ass samurai but there’s just something about customizing an avatar to look exactly the way you want them to. The demo we tried did not allow us to customize at all but it is confirmed that you’ll be able to customize your looks with a ton of different options, including race and gender. Yokai Shift / Yokai Move. The demonic forces you’ll face are tougher this time around but as they say, if you can’t beat ’em, join…

There’s so much FF7 Remake news and this time, it’s another gameplay video, this time with Ifrit! Take a peep below courtesy of Nmia Gaming: In the video, we can see a new boss battle with Aerith and Tifa as playable characters along with Cloud. You’ll also notice a “Summon” bar fill up during the boss fight. It’s unclear at the moment as to what you’ll need to do to fill it up but in the video, Ifrit is summoned to fight alongside your party. The Summon bar slowly depletes while Ifrit is out so it could be a timer on how long Ifrit can fight with you. One more thing to notice is that Ifrit can burn the boss, dealing damage over time, and the boss will jump into the surrounding water pools to extinguish the flames. Ifrit also has abilities that deal massive damage. Lastly, we see…

Is it just me or do I feel that EVERYBODY is waiting for this game to come out next year? With the release date announced just ahead of E3 this year, the wait has been agonizing for some but if you were lucky enough to go to E3 and Gamescom, you would have had the chance to play a short demo already. Tokyo got its shot at a playable during TGS2019 and we had a chance to jump right into the game courtesy of PlayStation Asia and we’re here to basically tell you all about it! We’ll divide the discussion into chronological playthrough points based on the demo to make it easier for you to understand everything, because it is quite a lot to take in. A LOT. English voice acting is decent. I particularly don’t like how Barrett sounds in the game, acting like some weirdly hyped up dude, but…

Sometime back in June, Bandai Namco announced a One Punch Man game. Dubbed as One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows, the game will feature intense 3v3 action featuring the characters of the widely popular anime series. During Tokyo Game Show 2019, our friends from Banda Namco invited us to a hands on session with the game and we’ve got some answers for the questions we know you’ve been wanting to ask! If by any chance you don’t know how the game plays, it’s pretty much your standard 3v3 fighting game. Think Jump Force or the previous Naruto games, you get the drift. One thing I noticed here is that even though they probably used the same engine as the other similar games, they seem to have fixed some problems. Throughout my playthrough session, I did not notice any of the clipping issues that the My Hero Academia game…

One of the best fighting games from previous generations is back and looking better than ever as Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske take center stage in this new trailer of Guilty Gear, recently unveiled during TGS2019. Apart from the the fight scenes, it’s also confirmed that the anchor wielding cutie May will be the next playable character. The new Guilty Gear is set to release in 2020 for the PlayStation 4. Okay confession, I had already pre-ordered mine via the Square Enix US store because it was previously announced as an exclusive only to that store back in E3. Fast forward to today and a huge announcement was made that confirms the release of both the Deluxe and 1st class physical editions of the Final Fantasy 7 remake in the Philippines! First up is the deluxe edition. Priced at PHP4,299, the deluxe edition includes the base game in deluxe edition packaging, a Sephiroth steelbook case, a Mini Soundtrack CD, a hardbound artbook, and the bonus summon materia DLC cactuar. If money ain’t an issue, might as well splurge on one of the biggest games of 2020, right? Go all out for the 1st class edition, which includes all of the deluxe edition contents but with one huge addition, a Play Arts Kai Cloude Strife and Hardy Daytona box set. The price?…

All the story trailers keeping you confused? Want some gameplay action? Well, here’s 48 minutes worth of Death Stranding gameplay, guested by the one and only Hideo Kojima during the PlayStation Live Show at TGS2019. The narration is purely in Japanese, be warned. While we’re not any closer to fully figuring out the game, this gameplay video shows us a LOT of new content that the game will offer to the players and so far, it’s been looking good. Weird, but good. The visual for the game has also been revealed and is from the artist Pablo Uchida, peep the stunning image below: Could have been a movie poster, huh? Kinda reminds me of Avengers due to the purple color scheme and equally as impressive and jaw dropping. Can’t wait for the game? Death Stranding releases on November 8, 2019! Our Tokyo Game Show coverage is brought to you…

Based on the teaser, Project Resistance looked to be a brand new 4v1 multiplayer Resident Evil experience. The trailer didn’t show much but Capcom has answered our prayers and has released a gameplay trailer worth nearly 3 minutes, check it out below: I’m still a bit skeptical about this at this point but by the time you read this, I’ll be able to get my filthy hands on a playable demo to basically see first hand what the hype is all about. Will it be good? bad? REALLY BAD? We’ll know soon enough and we’ll be bringing you first hand impressions so stay tuned!
