OPPO has always tried its best to be significant in the industry. In the local scene, the company has been getting attention by consumers in the midrange smartphone category. They mainly share the same space with ASUS, VIVO and Huawei. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oKk7lSLxJQ&feature=youtu.be This was not the case 4 years ago. In 2014, OPPO launched Find 7 and it was – in many ways – ahead of its time. At a relatively considerable price, it has monstrous camera sensor, stacked with powerful specs and VOOC technology. Unfortunately, it was the last time we saw OPPO’s Find series in the Philippines until this July 2018 when they launched Find X in the country. It is a timely event as OPPO celebrates its 4th year anniversary in the Philippines. OPPO Find X is a fusion of tech and art. The manner of how OPPO is communicating it to its customers is similar to how…

In a country where PC and laptop brands like ASUS, Acer and MSI are wildly prominent, another brand is positive on bringing their innovative line of laptops in the Philippines. Known for their Mate, P-series and Nova smartphone series, Huawei is posed to bring their Huawei Matebook series to the Philippines and Vietnam this year, as confirmed by Jim Xu, President of Huawei Consumer Business Group. Apart from the goal of bringing more premium products in both countries, Xu did not give further details about the actual launch date of Huawei’s laptops although he mentioned that it will be sometime in July 2018. Launched last February 26, Matebook X Pro hosts a slew of noteworthy innovations like its insane screen-to-body ratio, touchscreen panel and camera placement. As for the pricing when it was launched 4 months ago, the lower spec variant (i5/8GB/256GB) is at  €1499 (around P96,000) while the top…

Developed by the company behind popular tower defense game Anomaly Defender,  and post-war survival game This War of Mine, Frostpunk is 11 bit studios’ unique take on city-building and survival genre. Keeping your people warm and well-fed ew the main goala, but the intricacies to pull this off requires grueling and sometimes frustrating steps, which surprisingly make it one of the best games we played this year. Here are 5 reasons why you should get this game! It’s too damn challenging! This isn’t Cities Skylines. If you think that Cities Skylines or Sim City is challenging enough, you’ve got to…

Popular rogue-lite metroidvania game, Dead Cells, just got a new update this June 6, 2018. Dubbed as Babel Update, the latter pushed a new language support for Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Korean and Traditional Chinese. Apart from additional language support, the new game also pushed cosmetic changes to the game – 2 of which were actually based on community suggestion: The hero wears a classy red scarf that follows all its movements. Now you can pretend you’re a ninja! All bows and crossbows received new skins! Another update was also pushed which adds pink balloons to the Barnacle (ceiling turret). The balloons will float mid-air if there is no attach point available. This, in effect, nerfs the damage caused by the turret. If you’re on Discord, the update now supports the voice-chat application’s Rich Presence. Additional bug fixes include: Anonymised error reports and stats sent to our servers Fixed…

Could this really be the ROG Phone we’ve been waiting for? We’ve got plenty of reasons to believe that ASUS Republic of Gamers is launching a phone this June 4, 2018 at Computex Taiwan. Jerry Shen and other ASUS executives hinted about this last April, and it seems that even ASUS can’t help but give everyone a teaser that hyped us up. Here’s an image hotspot that you can check out. Click the bubbles for details. Our predictions: SNAPDRAGON 845: The phone is likely to rock the latest Snapdragon 845, which also powers the ASUS Zenfone 5z. The latter will be available this June 2018 in the Philippines, so there’s a chance that the ROG phone might be available later this year. 18:9 or 19:9 display: There’s no point of going back to 16:9 or 4:3, unless ASUS wants to be labeled as “outdated”. ASUS latest smartphone lineup already sports…

Oh, and it can be hidden. The Mi 8 has a 6.21-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED display covered with 2.5D glass. It has an 18.7:9 aspect ratio, 88.5% screen-to-body ratio, and features support for an always-on display, something that we usually see on Sammy’s devices. One major advancement for the Mi 8 is in the camera department. At the rear are two 12MP shooters, one a telephoto, and the other with a wide-angle lens. Like most…

If you’re looking for a good laptop for productivity, Dell is usually a brand that would make it to the top of the list. Now though, they’ve unleashed a new beast, in the name of the XPS 13, and it’s not just powerful, it’s also one of the most gorgeous looking machines we’ve seen in a while. Epson’s theme of this year’s Fusion, “It’s in the details” is a fitting title to its overwhelmingly positive performance and latest innovations for various segments. The company flourishes in various market segments – with special emphasis on coming up with products for the B2B segment, and is consistent with their growth in the past 5 years, as reported by IDC full year share report. The company’s growth momentum in the past years has been very positive, especially in the printers category. This is more than enough reason for Epson to carry on with its annual tradition to thank everyone – including the media – for getting a much-coveted accolade in the print and imaging industry. Present in the event was Epson’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia and President & Country Manager of Epson Philippines, Toshimitsu Tanaka. During his welcome welcome remarks, he said, “What customers get from our products and solutions come from…

When Vivo entered the mobile industry, the market back then was dominated only by a couple of names. In a matter of time though, the company has managed to place its own presence, by putting out products with game-changing innovations. Vivo is determined to break barriers and introduce technology that will usher the industry into the future. For example, it was the brand that introduced a 20MP dual front camera on the V5 Plus, and a 24MP front camera on the V7, V7+ and V9. Earlier this year, Vivo announced a concept smartphone called the APEX, which had a near 100%$ screen-to-body ratio. Its current flagship, the V9, is also inching close to that at 90%. The brand is also the first to introduce an in-display fingerprint scanner, giving users more options to unlock their devices. The possibilities are endless, and there’s no telling what Vivo has in store for…
