The Redmi 7 has be officialy released in China! The phone follows the Redmi Note 7 in offering a chipset and battery better than its price would suggest. It has a 6.26-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution, and is powered by a Snapdragon 632 with eight CPU cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It has a dual camera setup in the back consisting of a 12MP main shooter with a 1/2.9-inch sensor size and a secondary 2MP sensor. At the front is an 8MP selfie camera. The phone packs a 4000mAh battery with standard 10W charging and runs on MIUI 10, based on Android Pie out of the box. The ZenFone Max Shot and Max Plus M2 are the first smartphones powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon System-in-Package (SiP) 1. This is a month after it was announced that Qualcomm would partner with Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) on a new semiconductor plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The Max Shot will offer an extra 8MP wide-angle camera in the back while the Max Plus M2 will simply have a flash sensor in that spot. Both devices will have the same 6.26-inch FHD+ notched IPS panel. The Max Plus M2 will come in a single configuration with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage while the Max Shot will get a 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage. Update: GSMArena has amended the source article stating –  “The benchmark is spoofed by an unnamed custom ROM developer, according to XDA-Developers. There isn’t a Poco F1 Lite, nor a Xiaomi uranus is under development. The listings were edited and we were among the websites that fell for the immature joke.” The Pocophone F1 Lite – or Poco F1 Lite in India has popped up on Geekbench with a Snapdragon 660 chipset and 4GB RAM. It runs on Android Pie and scored 1,341 and 4,830 points in single and multi-core tests, respectively. What we don’t see, however, other specs like internal storage and display resolution. Another Xiaomi phone has also appeared on Geekbench with the codename “Uranus”. While it had the same score as the Poco F1 Lite, it scored slightly lower. Huawei has unveiled the toned down version of the Nova 4, named the Nova 4e. The Huawei Nova 4e comes with the Kirin 710 SoC with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. The smartphone also runs on Android Pie-based EMUI 9 and comes with 128 GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card slot. The phone has a 6.15-inch 19.5:9 LCD display with 2312×1080 resolution. The display has a waterdrop notch on the top of the screen which houses the 32MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. At the back is 3D glass with a triple camera setup that consists of a 24MP, 8MP, and 2MP lens. The 24MP is the primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Huawei is set to unveil the P30 and Huawei P30 Pro on March 26. And after leaked renders revealed what the phones look like, the detailed specs of both devices have now surfaced online as well. The spec sheet reveals that both the P30 and P30 Pro will be powered by Huawei’s Kirin 980 flagship chip, run on Android Pie-based EMUI 9.1, and will have a 32MP camera on the front. Along with this, both phones will also have a USB Type-C port, NFC, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and IP68 dust and water resistance. The P30 will have 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The Samsung Galaxy A90 appeared on the brand’s US page promoting exclusive Asphalt 9 content to Samsung owners.  The new phone is mentioned amidst the Samsung S10 family which may suggest that the Galaxy A90 will match the processing power and maybe even excel at gaming. Previous leaks point to a rotating pop-up camera, similar to that of the OPPO N1, and the phone is also expected to have a large battery to support long hours of gaming. Samsung’s A-series has left a mark that breaks the mold of design and features, and the Galaxy A90 may be another one to look forward to. Source

OPPO Vice President, Brian Shen announced Reno – a new product line in the company’s portfolio, much to the surprise of many. In a post on Weibo, the company has posted comments on the post by Shen saying that Reno isn’t actually a sub-brand but a new product line. The assumptions couldn’t be helped, since Vivo announced the IQOO. Whether we’ll see Reno follow the path, similar to that of Realme which launched one device under the mother brand but later separated into a different entity, is something to wait and see. Source

Kumu.ph, a Philippine tech startup, is winning hearts and minds online with a live streaming platform that “prioritizes the voice of over 100 million Filipinos around the world.” Kumu is on track to February closing with over 9M app visits which will place the live streaming app right up there in terms of traffic with major Philippines news and media companies like Inquirer.net, ABS-CBN.com, and GMAnetwork.com. The visits come from under half a million registered users who on average visit the app more than 30 times a month. The app is driven by Millenials and Gen Zs that make up more than 80% of its followers. OPPO has finally unveiled the F11 and the F11 Pro in India, following a string of rumors and leaks. The OPPO F11 Pro has a 6.53-inch full HD+ LCD Panoramic screen with 2340×1080 resolution. The display has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 90.9% of screen-to-body ratio. It forgoes a notch, for a pop-up selfie camera dubbed the ‘Rising Camera.’ It has a MediaTek Helio P70 SoC and is partnered with two storage variants, 4GB RAM/64GB internal storage, and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. The Redmi 7 appeared on TENAA and this time around, it has been updated with images and full specs. The images reveal that the smartphone will come in at least one gradient color. It also shows the dual rear camera setup with LED flash and a fingerprint scanner. The Redmi 7 has a 6.26-inch LCD 1520×720 display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The photo shows a screen that’s turned off but clearly displays a single camera right in the middle which may mean that we’ll see a waterdrop notch for the smartphone. Details of the next OPPO flagship have been shared by the company Vice President, Shen Yiren, following the launch of the Oppo F11 and F11 smartphones, powered by the Helio P70 SoC. Yiren shared on Weibo that their next flagship, rumored to be OPPO Find Z, will sport a Snapdragon 855 chipset, 4065mAh battery, and 10x hybrid zoom in its camera. While the name of the smartphone and launch date were not mentioned in the post, OPPO did mention that they will launch their first 10x zoom smartphone in Q2 of 2019 and this may be it. PLDT and Smart, according to Ookla, are the fastest fixed and mobile networks in 2018. The latest report from Ookla, the leader in Internet testing and analysis, which spans Q3 – Q4 of 2018 reveals that Smart achieved a Speed Score of 15.57Mbps with average download speeds of 17.86Mbps and average upload speeds of 8.61Mbps. This is based on 2,186,540 user-initiated tests taken with Speedtest on LTE-capable devices in the Philippines. While PLDT achieved a Speed Score of 18.57 with top download speeds of 52.28 Mbps and top upload speeds of 55.95 Mbps. This is based on 27,221,777 customer-initiated Speedtest nationwide for the same period. The Speed Score is a measure that takes into account both download speed and upload speed. Sony announced their new premium mid-range phones, the Xperia 10 and the Xperia 10 Plus. Both of which have 21:9 screens but these aren’t CinemaWide screens like that on the Xperia 1 flagship. Neither phones have fast charging. Along with the two Xperia 10 phones, Sony also announced their new entry-level phone, the Sony Xperia L3.
