At its most recent event, Apple finally unveiled the availability and pricing for two of its newest services, Apple Arcade and Apple TV+. Apple Arcade is the first mobile game subscription service. The service provides games a library of games that you can play and new games monthly for a subscription fee. Three games were featured at the event, Konami’s Frogger in Toy Town, Capcom’s Shinsekai: Into The Depths, and Annapurna Interactive’s Sayonara Wild Hearts. Along with the new iPhones, Apple also launched the 2019 iPad and the Apple Watch 5. The new iPad or the 7th Generation iPad comes with a 10.2-inch retina display. Apple has unveiled the latest in the iPhone series with the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The iPhone 11 has a glass front and back with anodized aluminum and comes in six new colors: purple, white, black, green, yellow, and product red. The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max has a textured matte stainless steel body with glass front. The Pro and Pro Max come in Midnight Green, Space, Grey, Silver, and Gold. All three phones are powered by the latest A13 Bionic processor, the fastest smartphone CPU and an upgrade to the A12 Bionic. Apple has set September 10 as the day that the new iPhones will be launched. It will take place in the Steve Jobs Theater at 10 AM PDT at the Apple HQ in Cupertino, California. Apple has announced new and updated versions of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, sporting improvements to the display, as well as 8th Generation Intel processors. It seems that the company has also decided to discontinue the 12-inch MacBook Air. The MacBook Air received True Tone to its Retina display. This offers a more natural viewing experience. The price of the MacBook Air has also been lowered to USD 1,099 (about PHP 56,600). At its annual WWDC, Apple announced its most powerful Mac system to date, the Mac Pro, along with the Pro Display HDR, a professional grade monitor for creatives. The new Mac Pro utilizes a tower-style design that was evident in previous Mac Pro models from 2006 to 2012 – an Aluminium body with feet and handles, and larger air-vents for better cooling. Its entire body can be removed using a latch located at the top that you can rotate and allows you to pull up the side shell. Apple introduced the Apple Card, a credit card by Apple for Apple Pay customers. This is in collaboration with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard. Apple Card is a digital credit card within the Wallet app on the iPhone. It can be set up within minutes and used to make payments wherever Apple Pay is supported. The company simplified payments history through machine learning and purchase location to figure out the merchant name and an easy-to-read format. It also classifies purchases into categories like shopping, entertainment, etc. Along with this, summaries can be viewed either in weekly or monthly form. They’ve also set up a 24×7 support staff available through iMessage. The card has a daily cash reward system instead of giving points. Earlier today, Beyond the Box launched the much-anticipated iPhone XR in the Philippines, in its branch in the City of Dreams in Pasay City. Activities started as early as 9:00 PM while people were already queuing up in line to get first dibs on the device. Apple’s new iPhones are set to be unveiled this September 12. And as the day inches closer, more information about the new devices continue to surface online. The latest one is from a 9to5mac – allegedly a press render of the iPhone XS and its bigger sibling. Both will be offered in Gold, a color variant that was not available for the iPhone X. According to the source, there will be two variants, 5.8 and 6.5 inches. Both will have AMOLED displays, dual rear cameras, a new A12 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. Coverage includes cracked screens and broken displays or any related issues. The service is available for customers with an iPhone 6s or later, and can be availed at Power Mac Center branches in Glorietta 5 and The Annex at SM City North EDSA. You can be assured that an Apple Certified Engineer will handle the repairs, and that only genuine Apple parts will be used. Of course, there’s a turnaround time for repairs, and that depends on the availability of replacement stocks and the diagnosis. To give you an idea, prices start at PhP11,025, inclusive of diagnostics fee and replacement parts, and may vary depending on the unit. With Apple’s recent statement regarding the battery issues on older iPhone units, Power Mac Center issued a set of guidelines on how they determine whether a device is qualified for battery replacement: Devices must undergo diagnosis to check the battery condition and other internal and external physical/accidental damage or unauthorized modification that may or may not be visible to the naked eye. If such issues are found, the iPhone will be ineligible for the battery replacement. If, other hardware issues are found during the diagnosis, an Apple Certified Engineer will recommend a part/unit replacement accordingly. Customers are free to choose whether to proceed with the recommendation or not, if they decide to pull out, they will have to settle a diagnostic fee provided that the unit is out or void of warranty.
