After the ASUS Launch Event in Taiwan for Computex 2019, we and a few other media friends were given some time to talk to some of the top hats from ASUS, and were given the opportunity to ask them questions about where the company was headed, and about the products that they’ve launched and are planning to launch. ASUS Republic of Gamers announced at Computex 2019 their new ROG Strix series power supply units (PSUs). The new ROG Strix PSUs bring high-end performance to the gaming audience. The roster consists of 750W and 650W models armed with massive ROG heatsinks and a 135mm axial-tech fan which delivers cooler operation and less noise. A mix of Japanese capacitors and low RDS(on) MOSFETs provide the foundation for a 10-year warranty and have helped the Strix PSUs earn an 80 PLUS Gold certification. ASUS Republic of Gamers has unveiled its new ROG Strix liquid cooling solution. The Strix LC RGB fans deliver high-performance liquid cooling to maximize the value of an unlocked Intel Core or AMD Ryzen CPU. The ROG Strix LC RGB comes in 120, 240, and 360 mm variants for a variety of builds. In its official Weibo account, ASUS ROG announced that it will “conduct in-depth cooperation” with Tencent Games in order to optimize its games on the hardware (possibly the ROG Phone 2), in order to deliver a better experience. The device is expected to launch  in China some time this July. Another post on the brand’s Weibo account translates to: On June 5th, ROG and Tencent Games officially signed, the two sides will play their respective advantages, strengthen the deep integration of game mobile phone hardware and software, and strongly launch ROG game mobile phone 2 (Tencent game customization), giving players a hearty, impeccable immersion Game experience. ASUS has just announced a compact, lightweight, and durable 15-inch laptop for business users, the ExpertBook P3540. The ExpertBook P3540’s 15.6-inch NanoEdge display features 5.6mm side bezels which minimizes the overall footprint of the laptop, and allows it to have a slim chassis. In fact, it only weights 1.7kg. ASUS has just announced at Computex 2019 its upgraded version of the ScreenPad – the ScreenPad 2.0. This along with the NanoEdge display are featured in the refreshed versions of the ASUS VivoBook S14 and S15. The ScreenPad is the innovative technology from the company that makes the trackpad double as a secondary screen. The ScreenPad 2.0 continues where its predecessor left off and builds upon it. It now has a larger 5.65-inch touchscreen powered by the new ScreenXpert software. The interactive secondary screen allows more efficient workflow. ASUS has just announced a refreshed 2019 version of the ZenBook series, this includes the ZenBook 13 (UX334), Zenbook 14 (UX434), and Zenbook 15 (UX534).  These are of course the 13.3-inch, 14-inch, and 15.6-inch laptops, respectively. They feature ScreenPad 2.0, the refreshed and upgraded secondary screen/trackpad. ScreenPad 2.0 has a larger 5.65 touchscreen and is powered by the new ScreenXpert software. Along with this, the new ZenBook models feature the four-sided frameless NanoEdge display which gives them a 95% screen-to-body ratio. ASUS ROG has just announced two new over-ear headsets at Computex 2019  – the ROG Theta and the ROG Theta Electret. The ROG Theta builds on the popularity of the ROG Centurion. The Theta employs eight discreet drivers and the first virtual-subwoofer technology to deliver 7.1 surround sound. The subwoofer not only helps bring 7.1 surround sound, but it also helps create an enveloping soundstage with deep bass. The new headset also benefits from an AI-powered noise-canceling microphone. It ensures clear in-game voice communication by employing machine-learning techniques to identify and cancel out 50-million varieties of external sound while accurately detecting and retaining the user’s speech. A new desktop motherboard prototype has been unveiled at Computex 2019 by ASUS – the Prime Utopia. The motherboard is engineered with a range of cooling enhancements to unleash the full might of the high-core-count processors and high-performance system components. One of these features is the placement of the PCIe slots at the back of the board for better thermal management. This frees up the prime estate in the front for more expansion cards and M.2 drives and enables heat from next-gen CPU, GPU, and M.2 drives to be managed better for better performance. The Prime Utopia also features integrated water cooling that helps manage heat generated when fueling high core count processor. ASUS also unveiled a second portable monitor in Computex 2019, this time a portable gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate – the ASUS ROG Strix XG17. The ROG Strix XG17 has a 17.3-inch IPS Full HD panel with 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. It has both micro-HDMI and Type-C connectivity making it compatible with a variety of devices – from smartphones/tablets to laptops and game consoles.  The portable gaming monitor weighs in at 800 grams. It also has a built-in battery that supports up to three hours of 240Hz operation. The battery also supports fast-charging with a one-hour top-up to power the panel for 2.7 hours. The ROG Strix XG17 features adaptive-sync which operates between 48Hz – 240Hz. This allows it to derive smooth gameplay from modest GPUs. The portable monitor also has a built-in speaker along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

ASUS has just unveiled its latest monitor, the ASUS ZenScreen Touch at Computex 2019. The ZenScreen Touch is a Full HD portable monitor that weighs in at 900 grams and is only 9mm thin. Its IPS display is a responsive 10-point touch screen that supports swipe, scroll, drag, and pinch gestures for better efficiency. Through the ZenScreen Touch app, it enables the display and control of apps from Android for a large-screen productivity boost and for a more comfortable view of any content. The larger scale display makes for an easier time editing documents, photos, and videos. It also comes with an optional overlay of Android menu buttons as virtual keys.
