In a country where PC and laptop brands like ASUS, Acer and MSI are wildly prominent, another brand is positive on bringing their innovative line of laptops in the Philippines. Known for their Mate, P-series and Nova smartphone series, Huawei is posed to bring their Huawei Matebook series to the Philippines and Vietnam this year, as confirmed by Jim Xu, President of Huawei Consumer Business Group. Apart from the goal of bringing more premium products in both countries, Xu did not give further details about the actual launch date of Huawei’s laptops although he mentioned that it will be sometime in July 2018. In its press conference held last night, Huawei unveiled the Matebook X Pro. Sounds familiar, no?  That’s because Huawei is not ashamed of aping not just the name but the look and feel of Apple’s Macbook Pro. And, from what we saw, specs-wise, it’s a product worthy of consideration by anyone who’s in the market for top of the line laptops. Let’s talk about the screen. Huawei claims that it is the world’s first FullView touchscreen laptop with a 91% display coverage. It has a 3000 x 2000 resolution, 260 PPI, 100% sRGB color gamut, 450 nits brightness, and 1500:1 contrast ratio. This edges out the latest Macbook Pro 15-inch models’ non-touchscreen specs (2880-by-1800 native resolution at 220 PPI).
