The Huawei P20 Lite is the most affordable of the brand’s newest series of photography-centered devices. And while it does not bear the Leica branding for its optics, this phone still has quite a note-worthy spec-sheet for a mid-range device. Known as the Nova 3e in other regions, most of the P20 Lite’s internals are similar to the very popular Nova 2i, and that’s both good and odd. You get the same Kirin 659 octa-core processor, 4GB o RAM, and 64GB of storage, expandable with a microSD card. The P20 Lite also has dual rear cameras, but retains a single sensor at the front.   Design and Build Quality Of course, the P20 Lite also carries the same design language that you’ll get from the P20 and P20 Pro – a display that makes use of a notch to house the front camera, the notification LED and other sensors, along with the…

What’s more, those who will pre-order any of the two from April 21 to 27 will also get a FREE Canon Photo Printer! The Huawei P20 Lite on the other hand, with elegant design and dual rear cameras will retail for only PhP15,990! Those who will purchase a unit on April 28 will also get a FREE Huawei Bundle! Verdict Both devices are great camera phones for casual snaps. Even without the aid of AI, there are instances when the Huawei P20 Lite actually performs at par and at times, even slightly better than the more expensive Zenfone 5, especially with managing noise in low light scenarios. On the downside, it does tend to over-accentuate the subject’s color at times, resulting to loss of detail. On the other hand, the Zenfone 5 produces more vibrant looking photos and is able to maintain a good level of detail without compromising color accuracy. The AI scene detection does most of the thinking for you, and  works quite well most of the time.  It does fall a little short in managing noise, especially in low light situations. For the time being, I’d say that it’s a draw as far as camera performance is concerned, but if it’s price to performance ratio as…

Dubbed as Huawei Nova 3e in China, this worthy successor to the Nova line or a lighter but still premium version of the P20 is going to be a huge treat to Huawei fans in the Philippines. The device boasts an impressive cast of specifications and features that will delight the fans of the brand and even mobile photography lovers. Let’s go ahead and unbox this P20 Lite! Note though that this is not yet a retail unit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIf7H2Zl-3U I’m not actually sure if this is going to be the retail box once this become available. It isn’t as fancy as the boxes of Nova 2 Lite, Nova 2i and even the previous P10 series. One thing is for sure, they are going to sell this as P20 Lite in the Philippines based on the model number on its box: ANE-LX2J. This is the same model name used in other…

After months and months of waiting, the Huawei P20 Lite is finally here – but with a different name, at least in China. It is only a week away before the release of Huawei P20 and P20 Pro and it seems that the youngest sibling is ready for its release in China. The Huawei Nova 3e boasts an octa-core A53 processor with an uber-familiar Kirin 659 chipset, Mali-T830 MP3 and 4GB of RAM. There’s a dual-camera setup at the back with a 16MP sensor and aperture of f/2.2, augmented by a secondary 2MP shooter for the bokeh effect. There’s also a 24MP selfie camera with a Sony IMX576 sensor and an aperture of f/2.0. The device has a  5.8″ display with FHD+ resolution and the familiar logo branding at the bottom of the front screen. The battery is a 3,000mAh module with fast-charging support. In addition to this, the fingerprint…

Witness this year’s biggest gaming convention in Asia, the Tokyo Game Show 2018. This September 19, our team will fly to Tokyo, Japan, to be part to TGS 2018. Special thanks to our brand partners Huawei Mobile, PLDT Home, Smart Communications and Cherry Mobile for making this coverage possible.

The Gadget Pilipinas Team was given access to a press briefing with Hidetaka Miyazaki, Director from From Software and a bit of hands-on gameplay. Here’s our take on the hands-on gameplay and the insights from the press interview. We also  figured a listicle is in order to rundown why this game will match the hype surrounding it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aW5nJDiaWf4 Here’s our Top 5 reasons why “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice” is to die for. 1) The game is Tenchu-inspired If you’ve played any of the Tenchu games in previous game consoles, you know that the use of the grappling hook to set-up a one-slash-stealth kills from above is a hallmark of the series. Zipping to rooftops and treetops will be the go-to move in this game to get rid of sentries. And yes, those ever-so glorious decapitations and dismemberments with the stealth kill are present. 2) Casual or hardcore can play From…

Heads-up, Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) players. The PES game you’re playing on your phone is going to get a major upgrade. For starters, the visuals will get a major overhaul and will be using Unreal Engine 4 – the same graphics engine used in triple A games for consoles and PCs. With the use of Unreal Engine 4, PES will be inching closer to how it looks versus its console port. It Next, over 3,000 new animations, improved player AI with every playstyle accounted for, and realistic ball movements has been optimized for fans to enjoy the ultimate soccer game. And lastly, 10 new league licenses from Europe, South America and Asia have been added, including Japan’s J. League. The best part? Despite these updates,  Winning Eleven 2019 is still free-to-play (with in-game purchases). PES 2019 promises to give a life-like behavior of the beautiful game and should take competitive mobile…
