LG, in close collaboration with Hopewell Integrated School (HIS) and Bigwash, puts in efforts to empower individuals with special needs through a sustainable livelihood program. Named HopeWash, the program enables students and graduates of HIS, a Cavite-based non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to individuals with special needs,  to be employable and lead functional lives. For a jumpstart, LG and Bigwash worked together to get the shop up and running all by taking care of the construction and training of the staff, which consists of HIS alumnus. LG also donated 5 sets of commercial washers and dryers, 1 commercial refrigerator, and 1 43″ TV. LG Electronics has patented a foldable phone design made up of three pieces, two displays, and no ports. So far, only two companies have unveiled foldable phones. These, of course, are Samsung and Huawei with the Galaxy Fold and the Mate X, respectively. While LG may not have announced any foldable phones yet, the company spearheaded the foldable revolution as early as 2014, possibly even 2013. The designs of an LG foldable smartphone has surfaced and it may hint at where the direction the company is planning to take its foldable smartphone panel tech. A document detailing the “Z-Fold Type Foldable Smartphone” was just recently published in the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) database. The document itself contains a surprisingly large number of sketches. Over the years, engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility has become the norm, even in doing business. LG has just unveiled its newest budget and mid-range devices in India. The W-Series all pack octa-core processors, Android Pie, and potent 4,000mAh power packs. W10 sports a 6.19-inch FullVision notched display that houses an 8MP shooter, and has HD+ resolution. Under the hood is a Helio P22, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage expandable with a microSD card. The device has a 13MP + 5MP dual rear camera system. W30 on the hand, has a larger 6.26-inch HD+ screen that houses a 16MP front shooter. Similar to the W10, it also runs on a Helio P22, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. Technology Game Changer, LG Philippines has once again partnered with global content provider Netflix, for the premiere of its new original series, “The Umbrella Academy.” Held at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati, guests were able test their wits with a series of mind-boggling challenges at the seven super rooms, and overcame puzzles related to the dysfunctional mindset of the characters from the series. The LG G8 ThinQ and G8 ThinQ will be unveiled at MWC 2019 in February. The V50 will supposedly feature 5G connectivity and will be available in March to fight the Galaxy S10 X. The LG V50 will reportedly have a 6” screen and feature a new hands-free interface that will allow users to control apps and multimedia by waving their hand up/down and left/right. This will all be powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset with a vapor chamber to keep it cool. This is all fed by a 4000mAh battery. LG has launched a budget friendly smartphone named the X2. It’s powered by a quad-core Snapdragon SoC, and has a 5-inch HD display,  2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There’s an 8MP camera on the back, and a 5MP selfie snapper on the front. It measures 144.8×71.9×8.2mm and weighs 152g. The X2 runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat and tucks in a 2,500mAh battery. The LG X2 has just been launched in Korea, where it carries a price tag of KRW 198,000 ($175 or Php 9,300). Now though, the Korean tech giant has finally showcased its newest crowning jewel, the G7 ThinQ, which on paper, seems to boast what you’d expect from a device of its class. The G7 ThinQ is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and comes with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage for the G7, and 6GB + 128GB for the G7+. LG has finally revealed the date when it will officially unveil its newest premium smartphone, the LG G7 ThinQ. It will be on May 2, 2018, to be held at Metropolitan West in New York City, and on May 3, 2018 at I’Park Mall in Seoul, South Korea. In PH, the device is scheduled for launch sometime at the end of May. The G7 ThinkQ is the first premium smartphone to feature the ThinQ name, which is used to brand all LG products and services that make use of Artificial Intelligence or AI.
