Moto is a brand that’s been off the radar for a while now, and we’ve been wondering why. Fortunately, they’ve assured us that they’re still pretty much present in the Philippines. Maybe they’re more focused on making good products than marketing, which is in many ways, still a good thing. Unboxing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqLyd6g4ezc In fact, they’ve sent us one of their latest lower mid-range devices for a review. Priced at PhP9,990, the Moto E5 Plus is the company’s latest attempt to bring “premium” features at a more affordable price point. Specifications Design: What You’d Expect In terms of looks, the Moto E5 Plus is your typical smartphone with curved sides and uses a glossy finish for everything. Thanks to that, the back is a smudge magnet, and is also prone to scratches. I know they’re trying to give off that premium feel, but with this one, it simply doesn’t work, at…

Moto E is a fairly popular budget phone from Motorola as it offers a good all-around smartphone package for those who are looking to get into — or keep using — Android. This year, the Moto E has been refreshed as part of a renewed push to cater to emerging markets like the Phippines, where the interest in tech and consumer electronics is high but the purchasing power of the people remains mostly low. The new version, called simply the Moto E (2nd-gen), comes with a bigger screen, faster processor, and better main camera, while still retaining its wallet-friendly price tag. Here in the Philippines, it’s priced Php 6,999, so it isn’t too expensive compared to other budget smartphones from local brands. For anyone who might be considering a new budget smartphone purchase, what edge does the new Moto E have over its many Android-based competitors? Read this review to…

We like Android, and in many instances when we review Android phones, we wish they could be more Android-like. That is, more functional and less bloat-infested. A lot of the software perks found in most phones these days are typically just UI skins and unneeded third-party mobile apps. That’s why we gladly took on the Android-powered Moto X from Motorola to review. With a near-stock version of Android Lollipop, it came like a much-needed breath of fresh air. But before we go any further, let’s get one thing out of the way. The Moto X is not a Nexus phone in that it actually has the base, stock version of the latest Android OS — in this case, Lollipop. The Moto X is a flagship product, much like the top-of-the-line Xperia-series phone from Sony, or the newest iteration of Galaxy-series phones from Samsung. It’s a brand-name Google phone, but it…

Moto X wasn’t the only device launched last July 15 because Motorola’s best selling 2nd Gen Moto G and Moto E will also be available later this month. Moto G: Exceptional Phone, Exceptional Price Moto G is like a minituarized and scaled-down version of the Moto X. It has a 5″ HD IPS LCD display (compared to Moto X that has 5.2″ display). Obviously, pixel density is lower and resolution are lower on the Moto G if we pit it against the Moto X,. If you like playing games, it’s good to note that Moto G has a quad-core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon processor supported by a 1gb RAM and Adreno 305. While it’s a lot more affordable compared to Moto X, the 2nd gen Moto G features dual front stereo speakers, which the former doesn’t have. Moto X has 2 mono speakers “sandwiching” the screen, not stereo speakers. Moto G is…
