Yesterday, OnePlus’ newest flagship, the OnePlus 7 Pro, finally made its official debut in the Philippines through Digital Walker. The event also marked the first day of sale for the device. The OnePlus 7 Pro sports a new full-screen design, and boasts a 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. Under the hood is no less than a Snapdragon 855 enhanced with a 10-layer vapor chamber cooling mechanism, backed by up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. For imaging, the device houses a triple rear camera setup – a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an aperture of f/1.6 with both EIS and OIS, an 8MP telephoto lens that delivers up to 3x optical zoom, and a 16MP wide-angle shooter. The OnePlus 7 Pro despite having been announced yesterday has already been put through a thorough durability test by Zack from the Youtube channel JerryRigEverything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLmiWPHPqhU The Gorilla Glass display was the first to be tested and as expected scratches were visible at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale. Even deeper grooves showed at level 7. Like the display, the pop-up front camera is protected by glass too and won’t easily be scratched. Although, the area around it is plastic and prone to scratching. Not that getting scratches there will affect your photos though. They also showed that the sides, SIM card tray, volume rocker, power button, and alert slider are all metal, not that it’s surprising but the test to prove this was uncomfortable to listen and watch. After DxOMark teased the camera of the OnePlus 7 Pro, the device has finally been launched. The new phone from OnePlus marks up at an overall score of 111 just one point shy of the Huawei P30 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. Based on the photos from GSMArena, it shows a wide dynamic range that preserves both highlights and shadow details. This is expected given its high score in DxOMark. Their shots in sunny conditions also show beautiful color reproduction with neutral white balance and strong saturation. The camera also does well in controlling the noise, especially in brighter lit scenes. But according to the report, the same can’t be said in lower light with noise being more noticeable in dark parts. Following leaks of the two colors of the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro, a third color has surfaced in renders that look pretty official. This third color is reportedly called Almond and looks to be a lighter gold color. The design is pretty much the same as other previous leaks have shown. A full-screen display, a pop-up camera module, and a triple-rear camera setup. The OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and has been confirmed to have UFS 3.0 storage and an HDR10+ certified display.
