Following the unveiling of the Redmi Note 8 Pro, the device went on sale this week and has already sold over 300,000 units breaking Xiaomi’s record. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, of course, is the first device with a 64MP main shooter. In comparison, its predecessor saw 100,000 phones sold on the first day even if they sold in under 10 minutes. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is truly a powerful device with a MediaTek Helio G90T chipset and 18W fast charging support on its 4,500mAh battery, all that for a CNY 1,399 (around PHP 10,160) price tag. The Note 8 is a well-specced and affordable handset, while the Note 8 Pro is the first officially announced smartphone with a 64MP camera. The Redmi Note 8 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset. The SoC is based on the 11nm process and has eight Kryo 260 cores with four clocked at 2.2GHz and the rest clocked at 1.8GHz. With the launch of the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro closing in, more and more information about the two devices continue to surface. This time, a Weibo post has confirmed that both will run on the new gaming-focused G90T chipset from MediaTek. Another image also confirms that at least one of the devices (or both) will sport a 64MP sensor for its main camera, possibly the Samsung ISOCELL GW1. It also shows a physical fingerprint scanner, which rules out the use of an in-display solution. The Redmi Note 8 series is expected to make its official debut on August 29, 2019.
