When it comes to gaming laptops, ASUS ROG sure knows how to work its magic, by creating products that offer aesthetics that represent the brand’s values, while delivering the performance that gamers need to have that competitive edge. Such an example is the ROG Strix GL504GS Scar II. The second iteration of its kind, this one promises to be tons better than its predecessor in many aspects. The question is, can it walk the talk? let’s find out in this review. Specifications Design The Scar II retains its signature military camouflage marks,  and much of the aesthetics have undergone a makeover. The ROG logo on the lid for instance, now has RGB lighting, The bezels on the display are now much more thinner as well, allowing the laptop to be narrower without reducing screen size. There’s also an RGB-enabled section on the chin, which unfortunately, has no other purpose than…

Announced at COMPUTEX 2018, the ASUS ROG Phone is in many way, a dream come true for mobile gamers – from its striking design, to its powerful specifications, and features that really set it apart, and way above the competition. Today, ASUS has sent hints that the phone is finally on its way to the Philippines, and is most likely set for a grand unveiling on October 28, 2018, at this year’s Esports and Gaming Summit (ESGS), to be held at the SMX Convention Center. To give you a refresher, the ASUS ROG Phone boasts a 6-inch FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate for smooth and fluid visuals. Under the hood is no less than a Snapdragon 845 amped up to a clock speed of 2.96GHz. It’s got 8GB of RAM along with 512GB of storage. With X Mode, you can harness the device’s maximum performance without being interrupted by…

A lot of games are accompanied by a great soundtrack, and lets face it, today’s competitive scene requires that you’ll be able to perceive where your opponents are coming from, based on the sound of their movements. That’s why it’s important to have a good headset that lets you appreciate the beauty of the music, while at the same time, giving you all the details needed to know where that shot came from. The ASUS ROG Strix Fusion 500 is a headset that promises to do just that. Design and Build Quality Don’t get fooled by the Fusion 500’s plastic build.  Stretch it out, bend it, and  you’ll hear is a squeak. The headband is  made up of a plastic housing, an inner metal sheet, with a second layer of plastic underneath. The part that touches your head is also covered with a cushion, which unfortunately, can’t be removed for…

In this age of competitive gaming, every bit of help that you can get from your gear helps. Your monitor’s refresh rate, your PC’s better graphics card. your mouse’s DPI, and the list goes on. And while today’s mice are mostly designed to work on any surface, a good mousepad still comes in handy for those situations when you need that extra bit of performance. The ROG Scabbard is a prime example of such. Design At 900 x 400 x 2mm, the ROG Scabbard is large enough to fit not only your mouse, but also your keyboard, with enough extra space for a few other items on your desk. In a way, it also acts as a wrist pad, for a more comfortable typing experience. That also means you need a big table to use it. Unless of course, you’re okay with half of it dangling on the side. Using it…

With a new design which focuses on extended functionality not only for gaming, but also for general and entertainment purposes, it embodies a new approach to offering gamers a product that gives them a competitive edge, but at the same time, remains functional for everyday use. Design and Build Quality The first thing that you’ll notice with the ROG Strix Flare is its build quality. Despite being mostly made of plastic, the keyboard is quite heavy. The design utilizes a semi-metallic matte finish, which basically means you’ll see some tiny glittery effects when its illuminated from the right angle. Focusing on added functionality, there’s a dedicated volume control roller on the upper left, which can also be pressed  to mute all sounds. There’s also dedicated buttons for controlling media playback, disabling the windows key,…

The ROG Gladius II gaming mouse that we reviewed way back was one of my personal favorites from the brand due to to its vast feature set, along with dimensions that were a perfect fit for my hand. Now though, ASUS ROG has opted to release a wireless version of the Gladius II, adding more convenience and less clutter. Apart from that, it’s still the great product that it is, with a DPI target button that delivers a burst of high or low DPI only at times when you need it, and a 16000 dpi sensor for absolute precision. The mouse features ergonomic contours to enhance comfort, along with with an exclusive socket design that allows for easy switch-replacements and Aura Sync which synchronizes the lighting effect with other compatible devices, adding that extra visual zing to your setup.
