Vivo has recently announced a price reduction to one of its Y-Series smartphones – The Vivo Y15 packs a massive 5,000mAh battery to deliver outstanding longevity, and is now priced at PhP9,999 (from PhP10,999). Vivo Y15 has a 6.35-inch HD+ display, and runs on a Helio P22 processor, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It runs on Funtouch OS 9 on top of Android 9 Pie. While Vivo’s V-Series smartphones have received good reception, thanks to a combination of great performance and imaging capabilities, the company isn’t forgetting to show some love foe its Y-Series, which has undergone a “makeover.” Today, we’re taking a look at one the devices in this lineup, the Y17. The Vivo S1 for India is set to feature the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset along with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, according to reports – a totally different device from the S1 for China. Vivo has announced a price drop for one of its entry-level devices, the Y91C, making the device accessible to more consumers. The Y91C has a 6.22-inch HD+ display, and is powered by a Helio P22 octa-core processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It sports a 13MP and 5MP rear and front shooters respectively. The device runs on Funtouch OS 4.5 on top of Android 8.1 and packs a 4,030mAh battery. Other features include Bluetooth 5, AI Game Mode and Face ID Access. Vivo Y91C comes in two colors – Fusion Black and Ocean Blue. and is now priced at PhP5,999.

Vivo has finally lifted the curtains on its first 5G smartphone, the iQOO 5G. They didn’t say much specs-wise, but we do know that this phone is set to be launched within the next three months, which makes things that much more exciting. The iQOO 5G will sport a Snapdragon 855 connected to an external X50 modem, . What’s interesting is that they managed to fit in eight antennas while also preventing interference. That same modem also requires the motherboard to be larger, so Vivo had to find a way to retain the battery size, with still enough space to fit everything in there, and they did.  According to Qing Fei, Director of  Vivo’s 5G R&D Center, 5G networks will reduce latency and allow for more devices to be connected to the network. Remember the APEX 2019? the phone with 5G, a full screen display, no buttons, no front camera, and no ports? well, Vivo held an event yesterday, and showcased the device. The phone adopts a minimalist, yet sophisticated design. Bezel-less, but packs a ton of innovations that makes it stand out from other smartphones in the market. Vivo is beefing up its Y-Series lineup once more, with the announcement of the Y12, a sub $200 smartphone that boasts a triple camera system, and a hefty battery for long hours of use. The Y12 sports a 6.35-inch Halo FullView display with HD+ resolution, and is powered by a Helio P22 processor. You get 3GB/ 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage, expandable via a microSD card slot. The device houses a trio of rear shooters – 13MP (main), 8MP (super-wide), and 2MP (depth). Up front is an 8MP camera. It runs on Android 9 with Funtouch OS 9 on top and packs a 5,000mAh battery. Vivo released a teaser on its Weibo page, regarding what the hero product/technology that it will be showcasing at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, and from the looks of it, it might not just be its first 5G smartphone, but also a new fast-charging technology. Rumor has it that Vivo’s 120W super fast charging technology can fully juice up a phone with a 4,000mAh battery in a stunning 13mins. That is just crazy. In fact, a brand manager for Vivo IQOO claims 50% in 5 minutes. To date, Vivo’s fastest charging tech only boasts 44W, and while there are no further details available, we can expect to see it in action, whether in a prototype device, or in the company’s first 5G smartphone. After being leaked last week, the Vivo Y3 is now official! The Y3 has a 6.35-inch LCD display with 1544×720 resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.3:9.
