Today, ASUS has confirmed what a lot of fans have been eagerly waiting for – the local launch of the Zenfone Max Pro M1. And while there’s still no exact date and pricing, what we do know is that it’ll be some time in June. That’s not exactly a long wait. The Zenfone Max Pro M1 will be available in 3GB and 4GB variants, both with the mid-range Snapdragon 636 under the hood. Yes, that’s the same chip that powers the Zenfone 5. Whether the phone will also have AI-enhanced features is still a question. The device sports a 6-inch FHD+ display that sticks to an 18:9 aspect ratio, so yes, no notch here. We might be looking at 32GB and 64GB of storage, expandable with a microSD card. For optics, the Zenfone Max Pro M1 has a 13MP/16MP + 5MP rear camera system, the later used for depth-sensing. It…

When we talk of camera performance, a lot of people not only look up through actual photos, but what its DxOMark score is. To put it simply, it’s an industry standard that tells you how good your device’s camera is.  More or less. Recently, DxOMark released its full review for the new Zenfone 5’s cameras – and it scored 90 overall (Photo: 93, Video: 86),  impressive for a mid-range device. To give you a short summary of just how they were able to arrive at that score, the Zenfone 5’s cameras went under a series of tests to see how they would fare in various shooting conditions. They also tested its zoom and bokeh capabilities, plus factors such as flash. contrast, color, texture, and more. The ASUS Zenfone 5 has a dual rear camera system, composed of a 12MP main sensor, along with a secondary 8MP sensor with a wide-angle…

The Zenfone Max M1’s announcement debuts the separation of the Max lineup as a category of its own. As such, it stays true to tradition, with a huge 4,000mAh battery. And while it may not be the most powerful device on paper, it still boasts features that make it such an attractive offer, especially when you consider how much it costs – an 18:9 display, and dual rear cameras. Design and Build Quality Right off the bat, I’d say this is one beautiful looking device. What I absolutely adore about it is how compact it looks and feels, and that’s despite having a huge battery. Up front, you get a 5.5-inch 18:9 HD+ display, which may not be the most detailed in the world of course, but is still quite fun to look at, thanks to that colorful motif that ZenUI uses. It’s can go very bright, and text looks…

Seems like ASUS is proceeding with its plans to bring back more affordable devices to the market, as it has recently announced the Zenfone Live L1, the first from the company to come with a Go version of Android installed, which means you don’t get the usual bloatware that comes with ZenUI, but rather a pure and lighter Android experience. Based on paper, the device is clearly targeted for the budget segment. It has a 5.5-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and is powered by the Snapdragon 425 processor along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. At the back, you’ll find a 13MP camera with PDAF, while the front boasts a 5MP snapper that also features facial recognition. The device runs on Android Oreo Go Edition, and packs a 3,300mAh battery. Other features include 4G connectivity and Bluetooth 5.0. It comes in Rose Pink, Midnight…

The brand’s slogan #BackTo5PH is in fact, a recollection of the original Zenfone 5’s mantra. The Zenfone 5 is the brand’s newest offering in the upper mid-range category, and just looking at it, you can immediately tell, that it was built from the ground up with the utmost attention to detail. It features an all new design, a more capable processor enhanced by AI capabilities, a new software, and of course, improved optics. Will this phone be the key to the company’s rise from the previous generation’s mishaps? or did they not do enough? Let’s find out in this review. ASUS Zenfone 5 Specs Design and…

ASUS has done such good job with its new ZenFone 5 series that both the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Q were sold out (1000 ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 5Q’s combined) in under an hour just after they were launched last April 14! That includes ASUS and ZenFone Stores in major malls, as well as on-site sales in One Esplanade in Pasay City, where the launch event was held. With the growing demand for these devices, ASUS Philippines made sure that stores in major malls were re-stocked as early as Monday morning. So if you want to get your hands on one, try to be early. Fans were very happy with the new ZenFones, as these devices offer very good specs and a vast array of useful features that’s combined with very competitive pricing. Looks like ASUS has certainly raised the bars with its newest lineup of photography-focused smartphones – thanks to…

At the opening of ASUS’ 100th store in Ayala Malls Feliz, we were given a few minutes to talk with some of the company’s big guns, including the Country Manager, Mr. George Su, and the CEO himself, Mr. Jerry Shen, to get a better glimpse of what the future holds for the Zenfone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxEi9GfVmYg The Zoom Lineup is Officially Discontinued The Zenfone 3 Zoom will be the last of the Zoom lineup that will see the light of day. In their tests, they found out that having better light sensitivity combined with digital zoom is much more beneficial compared to optical zoom. Somehow, this makes sense as the new Zenfone 5z is already equipped with powerful and ai-assisted optics, but personally, we’d still love to see an even more camera-focused device. The Motive Behind the Very Aggressive Pricing of the Zenfone  5 Series ASUS wants to give its users a…

The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max Lite is the more affordable variant of the popular Zenfone 4 Max. Toned down in many aspects, it still does have a few tricks up its sleeve that make it worthy of a look.  It has dual rear cameras, something that’s not really common for budget devices, and a huge 4,100mAh battery, which makes it a very enticing device for those who want longevity without spending a lot of cash. And it’s also quite special – as this is the last Zenfone 4 device that will see the light of day, before the much-anticipated Zenfone 5 series arrives. With that said, let’s check it out and see what it can do. ASUS Zenfone 4 Max Lite Specs: Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) 5.2-inch HD IPS display 13MP + 5MP rear cameras (Main…

Shortly after its announcement at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, ASUS Philippines has finally announced the launch date of its most anticipated Zenfone 5 series, happening on April 14, 2018! For its local launch, ASUS goes #Backto5 as a welcoming gesture to a range of photograpghy-centric devices. The new Zenfone 5 smartphones offer a combination of premium design and cutting-edge mobile photography with AI technology. Zenfone 5Z Heading the pack is the Zenfone 5Z  with its 6.2-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio packed in a 5.5-inch frame, delivering a more cinematic experience for viewing any content without compromising comfort and ease of use. The phone also benefits from Qualcomm’s X20 modem, delivering jaw-dropping speeds, along with Bluetooth 5 for use with…

Following the launch of the Zenfone Max Plus, ASUS is continues to keep the ball rolling with the Zenfone 4 Max Lite, a toned down and even more affordable variant of the popular Zenfone 4 Max. (PhP7,995) The ASUS Zenfone 4 Max Lite has a slightly smaller 5.2-inch display with the same 720p resolution, and is powered by a Snapdragon 425 quad-core CPU versus the Max’s octa-core Snapdragon 430.  It has 2GB of RAM, which should be enough for casual use, but not for heavy multi-tasking. You also get 16GB of storage with microSD card support. At least, ASUS decided to retain the dual 13MP + 5MP cameras at the back along with an 8MP front snapper. Are these just as good as the cameras on the Max? we’ll have to find out. Of course, any Zenfone with the word Max means it focuses on battery life. In that regard,…

ASUS has been showing hints of its upcoming Zenfone 5 smartphones. And while an announcement is apparently on its way at MWC this month, a render of possible one of the devices has been spotted from a manufacturer’s manual, and named X00PD. The image shows what seems to be an 18:9 display along with a dual camera setup along with a microUSB port, which suggests that this may not be the flagship device, but perhaps more of the entry level or even a lower-mid range offering. If anything, it looks like the Zenfone Max Plus, only that the dual rear cameras are now in a vertical position. Anyway, the company’s announcement is scheduled on February 27, and we’re very excited to see the new device or devices that they have in store for us. Source via
