Huawei has just officially announced the FreeBuds 3i in Europe. Like its cousin, the Huawei FreeBuds 3, the 3i has active noise cancellation built-in.
The FreeBuds 3i has three mics on each bud – two facing outward and one facing inward. All work together to enhance call quality. The outward mics pick up your voice, while the inward one receives the voice conducted inside your ear.
The buds have active noise cancellation of up to 32dB. This does, however, eat away at the battery. The FreeBuds 3i on their own only lasts 3.5 hours of playtime and 2.5 hours for calls. The case gives an additional 14.5 hours of music listening or 10.5 hours of talk time. Charging the buds in the case will last an hour but charging the case itself takes around 115 minutes.
The FreeBuds 3i has 10mm dynamic drivers in them and also has IPX4 water resistance. In the box, it also comes with four silicone tip sizes.
Like previous iterations, the buds are equipped with a touch sensor with lets you tap the bud for controls. Long taps on either bud turns ANC on or off and a double-tap plays/pauses music or answers/ends calls.
The Huawei FreeBuds 3i is available in Ceramic White from the Huawei Store on May 20. It is priced at GBP 89.99 (around PHP 5,600). A Carbon Black color is slotted for release but will arrive on June 17 at select third-party retailers.
We’ll just have to wait and see whether or not Huawei brings it into the Philippine market.
