iQOO has launched its latest flagship devices – the iQOO 5 and 5 Pro.
iQOO 5 and 5 Pro both sport a curved 6.56-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch hole for a 16MP front camera. Both boast 240Hz touch response, 1,300 nits of brightness, support for HDR10+, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
iQOO 5 Pro has a more pronounced curve on its display. Which can be considered one of the more obvious ways to tell one from the other, aside from color, of course.
The two devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. There’s also a VC heat sink which the company says is able to lower CPU temperature by 12 degrees Celsius.
Both phones have three cameras in the rear. The common lenses between the two are the main 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor and the 13MP ultrawide lens. The vanilla iQOO 5 has a 13MP portrait camera to round it out, while the Pro has an 8MP periscope module with 5x optical zoom and up to 60x hybrid zoom.
The Pro option has a smaller battery of the two at 4000mAh but boasts the 120W Flash Charge support. The new charging technology is said to charge the 4000mAh pack from 0% – 100% in just 15 minutes, while charging it for 5 minutes will get you 50% charge.
The iQOO 5 has a 4500mAh battery but with a less impressive 55W Flash Charge solution. Both phones run iQOO UI 1.5 on top of Android 10 out of the box.
The iQOO 5 will be available in blue and gray. The base 8GB/128GB configuration will be available for CNY 3,998. The 12GB/128GB variant will set you back CNY 4,298, while the top 12GB/256GB option will go for CNY 4,598.
The iQOO 5 Pro comes in two very unique colorways – Track Version and Legendary Edition. The Track Version is pure leather with a red-black-blue stripe running through the camera module at the back, commemorating the partnership between iQOO and BMW. The iQOO 5 Pro has two memory variants – 8GB/256GB for CNY 4,998 and 12GB/256GB for CNY 5,498.
The new iQOO 5 and 5 Pro will be available in China starting August 24 with international availability expected to be announced at a later date.
