Samsung officially took the wraps off the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series comprised of the Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic. The new Watch series was introduced at the second half Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event where the Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series were also unveiled.
The Galaxy Watch6 series brings with it a lot of improvements including a larger display and bigger battery capacity.
Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Series
Both members of the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series are powered by an Exynos W930 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
The Watch6 comes in two sizes – 44mm and 40mm and these offer 1.47-inch and 1.31-inch Sapphire Crystals, respectively. Meanwhile, the Watch6 Classic is larger at 43mm and 47mm but shares the same Sapphire Crystal display sizes.
The duo also features more typical smartwatch monitoring including heart rate, SpO2, blood pressure, and skin temperature. Other health-related features include Body Composition, a new Personalized Heart Rate Zone, and Custom Workout. They also carry over the ECG monitoring from the Watch5 series.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch6 series offers an analysis of Sleep Score Factors namely total sleep time, sleep cycle, awake time, as well as physical and mental recovery. The two smartwatches also have individualized Sleep Messages and Sleep Coaching. The Galaxy Watch6 has Sleep Consistency and Sleep Animal Symbol, the latter is a designated animal to represent your sleep type.
Samsung Galaxy Watch6 series is equipped with a 425mAh and 300mAh battery for their larger and smaller-sized variants, respectively. Moreover, they connect via Bluetooth 5.3 and offer Wi-Fi 2.4GHz and 5GHz, GPS, NFC, and LTE. The duo is also rated at 5ATM and IP68 as well as complies with the MIL-STD-810H standard.
Both variants of the Galaxy Watch6 come with a sport band out of the box, while the Galaxy Watch6 Classic has Hybrid Eco-leatherbands out of the box.
