Spotify has also joined the Clubhouse hype train as it launches Greenroom, its own take on a voice live streaming service.
Greenroom is a separate app altogether despite the Spotify branding. In a nutshell, it works like its current competitors, namely Twitter Spaces and Clubhouse. One user creates an audio-only room where listeners can either tune in or participate. The creator is given the control of whether anyone can speak or only some of the listeners.
Currently, the new app is English-only and can be downloaded via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It is said to be available in most countries where Spotify is available. You can sign in with either a Spotify account or just sign up for a Greenroom account for free.
Because it is a separate app, it does come with a different terms and conditions from Spotify.
To make it easy to find the right room, you can browse rooms based on any subject from sporting teams to bands or news.
